-jerson

Prusisyon

Parang stations of the cross lang yan e.

[Koro:]
Ikaw lamang ang nagtiwala saakin
O Dios di kita bibiguin
Magtatapat Sayo
Maglilingkod ako
O Dios kay buti Mo.

--isa yan sa magiging graduation songs ko :)

i, too, lost my phone

it was only last sunday when i extended my sympathy to a friend/classmate/course-mate Eunice who lost her phone. I even dropped a comment on her multiply blog.

Two days after that, I was clueless that I too would lose my phone.
I had lost it before. I left it in Jollibee-Philcoa. And one of the crew there kept it and it was returned to me (safe and sound :))

Just this morning, while my mind was in a haywire with my usual pile of academic requirements, I didn't think much about my phone. I did not even dare to check my ymail and messenger using it (which I usually do while I am in my daily morning bus ride).

After getting a cone of vanilla ice cream (that early!) and a stick of fried siomai in MiniStop, I hurried to ALVA Computer Cafe to end my acad-life misery :) I was in the middle of typing a lesson plan when I remembered my phone. It wasn't in my pocket, backpack and Divi bag. Hmmm...where did it go? That I cannot answer. I went back to MiniStop, but the people didnt find any Nokia 6070. I tried to call it using the payphone outside, then the girl said that "it's either unattended or out of coverage area". Oh ok. I shrugged.

I really did lose my phone...for the second time around...and its for good. So i have lost two phones already.

--o0o--
may sentimental value yung phone na 'yon sa akin. Katas 'yon ng Coca-Cola Fdtn. Scholarship ko 2 years ago :(
--o0o--

I believe God is replacing it with a better one :) But, I will surely miss it :)

Take care of your phones :)

Doulos adventure

The original plan was I'm going with LJ Salceda of 702 DZAS on March 26. But things didn't turn out that way. The next date I had in mind was March 30, their last day in Manila. But, lo and behold, I was there a while ago.

Clueless on its whereabouts, I impulsively decided to drop by MV Doulos, the world's oldest active ocean-faring passenger ship, right after my tutorial in Binondo. I was half-sure of its location. Pier 13 North Harbor. So, I opened my ym in my phone to ask anyone about its exact location. Fortunately, Jenn, a former Edcirc co-mem, was online. I politely asked her to google the location of Doulos. She replied right away (Annyeong haseyo Jenn!). It's Pier 13 but South Harbor, not North. Haha.

I asked so many people on how to get there. They were

1. Manong pedicab driver in Divisoria. " Saan po ang sakayan papuntang Pier 13?" (Dun sa may Asuncion banda)

2. Manang Barker.

(Pier South daw.) I found out that he would be getting off in the same place. He even told me things about Doulos. For that, nilibre ko siya)

5. Pier security guard who ignored me several times before answering my question. "Saan po papuntang Doulos?" (Liko daw ako at dumiretso lang)

With the help of those heaven-sent people, I got to MV Doulos after almost 70 minutes of travel and adventure.

So what about the real Doulos experience? I was fascinated with the multiracial crew. Koreans, Africans, Americans, Indians and a lot of Europeans. They're all friendly. Each greeted the guests with a smile. Getting on board was quite an adventure too. Climbing up that one-of-a-kind stairs was thrilling. Because if you move fast and with heavy thuds, you'd feel the stairs moving too.

I didn't buy much books. *sorry for me* I just bought a booklet about Doulos and a skyblue rubber wristband with http://mvdoulos.org/ on it . As a (student-)bookhunter, I always aim for a good book with a wallet-friendly price. There are a lot of worth-keeping books there but their prices are a bit way beyond my budget (though the books' prices are much cheaper compared to National Boostore price). And I could find (yes, I really could) the same books (but in a much lower price) in BOOKSALE BOOKSALE.

Seeing MV Doulos and taking pictures of it was a blessing in itself. The ship, indeed, is a display of God's greatness (imagine an old ship travelling miles and miles) and His people's passion to share the gospel to the world.

Btw, I saw familiar faces there. Some UP students who are members of Christian organizations were there.

Going onboard MV Doulos is really a once-in-a-lifetime experience.I don't know when it will dock again in Manila. But if it comes back, I promise to buy books ( sana may bigger budget na ako no'n).

It came. I saw it. I've conquered it.

rejected attempt

it was a wrong move to invite that person to become my contact in friendster (coz that person only patronizes fs and not multiply, myspace, facebook or any other social networking sites). it really was.

We're part of the same imagined circle of friends. We see each other at least once in a week (or was it only me who see that person? Do i even exist in that person's world?) But why did that person turn down my request? I'm one of the friendliest people i know.

I even sent a personal message in my invite. Why? I wanna know that person's reasons.
Does it have something to do with perfect timing? Do i have to establish to a firmer rapport? Do i not meet that person's qualifications of a potential friend?

And after what that person did to me, am i gonna re-befriend that person again?

Buntong-hininga. Sige na nga. God help me.

i can't live without books

whew, i cant help but to buy a book/books every time book sale is going on.
just like last sunday and monday.

sunday, before attending church, i dropped by my favorite tambayan--booksale bookslae at the ground flr of rob nova. impulse alert. i ended up buying 9 beautiful books including Fatherhood by Bill Crosby.

monday, i visited booksale booksale in philcoa. i havent been there for almost 3 months. the ending, i went out with 12 new second-hand books (bago sila para sa akin) which i shared to my tutees that afternoon.

so guys, if you're gonna give me a gift (someday), dont hesitate to ask me first what books i already have.

and mind you, it doesnt matter if the book is expensive or if you just dug it up from booksale booksale or peek-a-book. what's important, is that the books areworth-reading, and worth-keeping. (my mini-library starts to expand)

lastly, im not yet that rich. i just love books. so i try to include them in my budget. i only spent P120.00 for the 21 books i bought this week.

P.S. I have a vision of opening a public lib (mostly children's books), so donate a book now.
